Light Mustard Diamond with Green Border
4'6" x 5'3"
Diamond or geometric patterns have been a tradition in floorcloth making from the beginning. Canvas sails could be painted either professionally or by the housewife.
The floorcloth shown is a brand new color for me. I have traditionally done diamonds in darker colors or marbled backgrounds. When a customer asks for something different it is like a whole new door opens for me.
I really like the challenge of making a diamond floorcloths and watching them come to life. The geometry must to be precise and changes with every size.
These diamonds are two shades of mustard and the border is a green with a black stripe. There is a light glaze over the entire piece to give it an aged appearance. It is finished with many coats of a water based varnish to protect it.
